Brake Service and Repair in Niagara Falls, ON | Cardinal Kia

Your vehicle's brake system has only one job - to stop your car. One of the most important safety components of your vehicle is your brake system. You should be able to come to a full stop, without delay, in any situation. When any component of your brake system is faulty, your ability to stop effectively may be compromised, potentially placing you in a dangerous predicament. Once you notice any irregularities in your braking performance, be sure to have your brakes inspected as soon as possible.

At Cardinal Kia, our Service Centre technicians are factory-trained and can inspect every component of your brakes, ensuring they meet the high safety standards set by Kia. If any component falls below the standard, we will service or replace that component using genuine Kia parts from our Parts Department.

Get to Know Your Brakes

It is essential to understand the complexity of your braking system, and the importance of scheduling a service appointment at Cardinal Kia when you require brake service or repair in Niagara. Leverage, hydraulic force, and friction are needed to bring your vehicle to a halt. Leverage is supplied by pressure applied to the brake pedal. The pedal is connected by levers and rods to the back of the power booster, where the force of that leverage is then multiplied and transferred to the master cylinder. The master cylinder is the heart of your vehicle's brake hydraulic system. It uses applied leverage to force a reservoir full of brake fluid through valves, steel lines and rubber hoses into hydraulic calipers and wheel cylinders. That hydraulic pressure is then used to help create friction.

Brake Warning Signs

You know you need brake repair when:

  • The brake light glows on your dashboard, indicating problems with the anti-lock brake system (ABS)
  • The brake light on your dashboard is red, indicating a more serious issue with your brakes
  • The brake pedal requires more force than usual to stop your car
  • You hear grinding or constant squealing during braking
  • Your vehicle pulls to one side when braking

Any time you notice these or other warning signs, it is a good idea to contact us or schedule a service appointment as soon as possible. At your scheduled service, if our inspection reveals you require brake repair service, we will explain what's required before any work is done.
